About Me
Experience
Professionally, my most recent position was as a senior interior designer at Degen & Degen architecture and interior design based in Seattle, WA (but worked remotely from Phoenix, AZ). I have also worked as an interior designer at Testani Design Troup in Scottsdale, AZ, as well as Ideation Design Group and Bar Napkin Productions in Phoenix, AZ. All are hospitality interior design firms. For my college-required internship, I interned for the hospitality design firm HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates in Santa Monica, CA. The summer before that, I worked as an intern at a high-end luxury residential design firm in Paradise Valley, AZ. I also do residential remodeling projects locally in the Phoenix metro area.
design Education
In the Spring of 2014, I graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, with a Bachelor of Science in Design (BSD) degree with a concentration in Interior Design. I was an active member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) ASU student chapter, where during my senior year I was the Membership Executive and during my junior year was the Education Executive.
My enthusiasm and passion for design were demonstrated by the several awards and recognitions for my studio work and academic achievements. This includes a professional jury-selected vacation home design that was published in ASU’s Design School 2012 Summer Exhibition, a mixed-use commercial / residential historic renovation project, being selected as a finalist for a local timeshare resort suite ADA renovation project, as well as being faculty-nominated for the Gensler Brinkmann scholarship and Angelo Donghia Foundation scholarship.

other Education / work experience
I have a previous Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Portland. Upon graduation, I worked at Intel Corporation for 13 years in various positions in Oregon, Washington, and Arizona, including manufacturing production, online training, and project management. After a layoff in 2008, I decided to follow a longtime dream and pursue a degree in Interior Design at ASU, with a focus on commercial interiors.
Interests
My hobbies and interests include watercolor painting and colored pencil drawings. I love to travel, having had the opportunity to travel to Spain, Italy, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, Australia, as well as most of the western United States. I also enjoy going to new local restaurants (and scrutinizing their interior design/ADA incorporation/safety compliance). I am married and have two cats.
